service
We extend a special welcome to those who are single, married, divorced, gay, filthy rich or dirt poor.
You are welcome here if you are a crying newborn, over 60 but not grown up yet, or a teenager who is growing up too fast. We welcome those who are in recovery or still addicted.

We offer a special welcome to those who could use a prayer right now, those who have had religion shoved down your throat as a kid or have been damaged by the church before. We welcome you just as you are.

A Note from the Pastor
As someone who is new to LMCC, I would love for you to know just a little more about us. Splattered all over the bulletin, website and Facebook are three vision statements that express our core calling:pastorbill

1) Come as you are
2) Be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit
3) Then go and love others.

What is so important and relevant about these specific vectors for us? Let me take them in reverse, maybe that will help.

Here’s the thing. Many of us in the Denver region are so independent and so self-sufficient that one of our biggest core issues is loneliness through isolation. It’s a big problem here. But to be honest, for so many of us, it was dysfunctional relationships that beat us up in the first place—that made isolation seem like such a great idea. Relationships are quite difficult and bad ones leave deep scars. To be honest, for many of us, it has been church relationships that have been the most painful. To coin a phrase, way too many of us are church-damaged—and if we were severely honest, the pain still lingers.

So here then is our problem: We are relatively lonely and disconnected. Though theoretically we understand the value of an intimate life-giving, accepting community, we are very skeptical of plunging back in. Make sense?
So what we all need is to come– this morning–into God’s presence–as we are (what else can we do but come as we are, after-all?)–and here in this flawed community, re-experience His life-giving, healing power. One of the fruits of such a stunning present encounter is a fresh desire to love others. It is of God’s DNA, not ours. It is so simple even a child could do it. This is our hope here at LMCC to lay the foundations for a radical new type of community. Join us.
