Adult Education Schedule
Encountering Jesus, Transformed By The Word
Although a worthy pursuit, the goal
of studying the Bible is not to know it, memorize it, and master
it contents. The scriptures, Jesus told the people of his day,
are not the source of eternal life, Jesus is.
But there is no better way to encounter
Jesus than through the word of God because it bears witness to
Jesus, God the Word made flesh (John 1:14). The goal of adult
Education at Lookout Mountain Community Church is to encounter
the Word behind the word—Jesus Christ. For this reason,
every adult education class is based in scripture with the purpose
of knowing Jesus better through it.
ahead of time. In
order to adequately prepare for you and your class, we ask that
you sign up ahead of time (of course, if you decide at the
last minute to enroll, don’t avoid coming because you
didn’t contact us first!). You can sign up for classes
by contacting Anne Thompson.
Making plans
for your child(ren). If you plan on participating in
a class on Sunday mornings and you have a child nursery age
through fifth grade, please contact Sheri
Hupf to reserve your child’s spot in the Mountaineer
Club. The Mountaineer Club is designed for children who attend
Kids on the Mount for more than one weekend service (so you
can attend your class and a worship service and your child doesn't
have to repeat Kids on the Mount).
Core classes.
Classes designated a “core class” are highly recommended
to everyone who considers LMCC to be their church home. These
classes communicate the DNA—the values, vision and beliefs—of
Lookout Mountain Community Church.
Wednesday
Nights.
Please take note that
all Wednesday Night classes are preempted on the first Wednesday
of the month so everyone can participate in the Living Stones
Service.

What We Believe
with Aram Haroutunian (January 23-March 13).
Every day you make choices and decisions that reveal what
you believe. What you believe, very simply, can be called
your “theology.” Theology, in its simplest definition,
is the way you think about life: about God and His creation,
and the relationship between the two.
The purpose of this class is to provide
a framework that helps you think about God, His world, yourself,
and the relationship between them. In the process, you will
develop atheology that is biblical and one that you can call
your own. Every class includes an overview of that week’s
subject and plenty of opportunity for your questions with
lots of interaction! Location: Education House #6. This
is an LMCC core class.

others but don’t know where to begin?

relational brokenness and discover a biblical path to living
a life with godly purpose, passion, and power. Michael Cusick

the Bible says a great deal about it.
In this class you will examine what the Bible says about the
arts as well as discuss how worldviews—both Christian
and non-Christian—influence it. Topics include: beauty,
art in Scripture, the Bible as literature, the Christian mind,
